US President Donald Trump announced on Friday 29th May that America cuts
ties, terminates WHO [WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION] funding permanently. The US
President says he will redirect its funding from the Geneva based WHO towards
other global public health organisations as the global superpower has decided
to terminate all ties with the WHO after alleging that it failed to monitor and
regulate the deadly Corona virus pandemic. "Because they [WHO] have failed
to make the requested and greatly needed reforms, we will be today terminating
our relationship with the World Health Organisation" the US President said
addressing an aggressive speech from the White House Rose garden. Last month
Donald trump had frozen the US funding to WHO blaming it for severely
mismanaging and covering up the spread of Corona virus. The President claims
that the WHO is a "crime against humanity" and a "damnable"
act that will cost lives. The USA was the biggest donor to WHO approximately
$400 million in 2019 roughly 15% of WHO's annual budget.
After the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation the third largest donor country
is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland at approximately
$250 million or 9.8% of the total budget and has promised a further $200
million in new funding for International efforts to contain the pandemic,
including a further $65 million for WHO. Please sign this petition for the UK
to withdraw its WHO funding completely in line with America's lead, thank you.
